Californians May Need Water Softener Alternative

Posted by Julie Cooley

recyclewaterAB2270, a water recycling bill before the California State Senate, has been deemed a water softener ban bill by the Water Quality Association.  This new law is designed to promote recycled water use by setting and tracking progress of recycled water targets and removing barriers for recycled water use.  This bill contains a provision allowing for an increase by local authorities to regulate salt type water softeners.    Recycled water is wastewater from homes and businesses that goes through advanced treatment processes to remove bacteria and pollutants.   Recycled water is used mostly for irrigation purposes, though additional uses exist under strict guidelines.

Should this bill pass, as it is expected to, California residents may find the need for an alternative to their salt type water softener.  EasyWater is an alternative.  EasyWater is an environmentally friendly alternative to a salt softener because it will condition the water and prevent limescale buildup without the use of sodium, potassium or other chemicals.

Protect the Environment

leafdropProtecting the environment is becoming more important to the American public.  There are hundreds of websites dedicated to teaching us how to be green.  When it comes to our water one easy way is with the FREIJE EasyWater, an alternative to traditional salt water softeners.

FREIJE’s work using electronic frequencies as water treatment began because of an environmental issue.  One of Bill Freije’s customers in his manufacturers’ rep business contacted him with a pressing problem.  The chemical laden bleed from the cooling towers was going into a small stream and the environmental authorities said it had to stop.  This customer called Bill asking if there was a way to treat cooling towers without using chemicals.  At first Bill said there was “no way”.  Nearly a month later the customer called back with even more urgency and asked Bill to try and find a way.   After years of experimenting and testing that way was discovered.  Now this innovative technology is available to the residential public through the FREIJE’s EasyWater system.

Salt type water softeners exchange salt for the calcium and magnesium in the water.  Salt brine is discharged from self-regenerating water softeners into the sewer system.  Desalination, the process to remove salt from water, is a very expensive process.  Because it is so costly, most cities and towns do not remove salt at their wastewater treatment plants causing the salt to flow into the environment and water sources.  This is becoming a big problem.  In fact, several cities are trying to ban salt water softeners because of the damage this wastewater is doing to the environment.

That’s why, the EasyWater system is a great alternative to a salt water softener for anyone environmentally conscious.   EasyWater systems use no salt and do not waste or discharge water.  Water is a priceless resource and it is imperative to conserve and take care of it.   Though the Midwest has more than enough to spare right now there are parts of the south and west are experiencing severe drought conditions.
